Skansen is an open air museum with Zoo on Djurgården in Stockholm, founded by Arthur Hazelius. Skansen was inaugurated on October 11, 1891. 

The name comes from the mound as Charles XIV John had built for his son Oscar, use as a playground, this lays next to the current Håsjö bar. In Skansen there are currently (2014) about 140 Scandinavia oldest building since 1300s, it keeps open-air museums and collections of historic structures
